Hello Glenbrook!
This week has been lovely! I went to Mike’s place to fill in that big, beautiful veggie planter with actual veggies. I put in spinach, beans, tomatoes, kale, squash, bell peppers, hot peppers, carrots, and radishes. However…..my war with the squirrels has begun already. I was planting away and went inside to cool off for a moment. I come back out, and some absolute terror of a squirrel had already helped himself to a small bean plant I had been growing since seedling! The evidence is quite clear!! This weekend I am going to line the garden with extra hot peppers and also just sit there with a water pistol ready to squirt any animal that tries to prematurely munch on my vegetables. I thought I would at least get to finish planting everything before having to wage war, but here we are!
I also wanted to thank everyone for their incredible words of support, encouragement, and congratulations over the last week. I had a wonderful time at graduation in the chapel at Knox, and felt the love and prayers from everyone here. I also want to thank the congregation for the lovely surprise last Sunday and the cake that we were able to enjoy after the service. I am certainly blessed to be a part of such a caring family of Christ
Please note that this coming Sunday I will not be around for the coffee hour after the service! My sister in law is having her bridal shower, and I will be getting there early to help with the set up of games, food, and decorations.
