Hello Glenbrook!

I hope that this week has been a restful, positive time for everyone.

If you have not been to the church campus yet, you  might not know just how insane it has been over the last week!

You may know that the lights in our parking lot have not been working for some time. So we were able to actually get that project done this week, which involved not just hiring an electrician to do the work, but also having asphalt companies come in to use big machinery to dig 700 feet of trenches to actually get the wiring implemented.

That alone already seemed like a lot of work. But what we found out on day one of trenching, was that the ground was NOT our friend! Right underneath, there were layers of concrete, asphalt, and other construction debris from over 50 years ago, when the development of South Common Centre seemingly used our property as a depository for the construction debris.

That resulted in the trenching machine breaking, and the workers (including Mike!) Having to use pick-axes to hand trench the parking lot for hours under the sun until they were able to fix the trenching machine and also rent another one to catch up on lost time.

Long story short, after several days of intense work, they were able to get it done and our parking lot now has light! Whew!

Thanks also to all of the hard workers keeping our garden looking simply GORGEOUS! What a beautiful sight. Find pictures attached!

This weekend, I am up in the Kawarthas for more wedding stuff. This weekend is not for my sister-in-law, but one of my oldest friends. The summer is just so full of weddings and wedding-related activities, I am starting to mix up which event is for whom! But what a blessing to be a part of so much love :) That said, I will miss you all this Sunday, and look forward to hearing Pastor Ian's sermon on YouTube!
