Hi Glenbrook!
I hope you are staying cool this week. We are so looking forward to the weekend at Glenbrook – our dear friend Emilie will be marrying her love and life partner Craig. Pastor Ian will be doing the ceremony here at Glenbrook. We are so blessed to have had Geraldine and Emilie and the family here at Glenbrook in our congregation for so many years. So please pray for their wedding, their marriage, and their happiness as they begin this new chapter in life! Congratulations!
I will be attending another wedding this weekend, but very far away. Tonight I will be driving up to Killbear as the plus one of a dear friend of mine. I actually might not see much of the wedding, as I am going to be in "Auntie Sam" mode and will be on childcare duty for the weekend. This wedding is happening at a campground, which should be fun! Although the weather is telling me that it is going to be raining cats and dogs. I am....not exactly sure what I am supposed to do to entertain a toddler in a tiny tent for two and a half days while it is pouring rain lol! I am hoping my friend brings enough toys and books for him to enjoy the time. Maybe there will be breaks in the weather so I can run him around until he tires (which apparently NEVER happens for toddlers!)
August Men's Lunch
A new month, a new lunch spot! On Wednesday August 21st, the men of Glenbrook will be meeting at Abbey Road which is very close by to the church. Please let me or either of the George's know if you plan on coming so that the reservation can be made for appropriate numbers. This will be a wonderful time of good food and greater company.
Golf Tournament
It's coming back! Glenbrook's sort-of-annual golf tournament will be happening in September on Saturday the 7th! The tournament will be happening during the day and will then be followed by a reception. Please keep an eye out for further details on the event and how you can sign up. For now, please remember to mark your calendars 😊
Indwell Grand Opening
Praise God with us that Indwell's Cornerstone Suites is now welcoming the first of 40 tenants into the new supportive housing in Streetsville. They're rolling a few celebrations into one: a grand opening and ribbon cutting as well as a celebration of Indwell's 50th anniversary. Everyone is invited to join on Thursday, September 12. Drop in anytime between 4 and 6:30 for the open house (and tour); a short program will begin at 4:30. Registration preferred, but not required, at indwell.ca/events.
