Hello Glenbrook,
I hope you had a great week, here is a special devotional that may resonate with all of you called “Go Tell OF The Feast”. A wonderful reminder to always keep others in your thoughts and to share in your blessings.
Have a great weekend!
Sam’s Last Blog – Goodbye, Farewell, Amen.
Hello dear friends!
I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. I have been a Pastoral Care Coordinator here since early 2019, and the Administrative Assistant since late 2019. Half a decade. In those years, Glenbrook has transformed, adapted, and grown despite the world around us in disarray. Every person I have worked with, whether a member of the congregation or a visitor who just needed some guidance and prayer have mentioned that there is this “golden aura” of friendship and love around this building. I always respond that it is not the building, but the people within whom God uses in such remarkable ways.
So while I may not be up at the front or working behind the scenes in the same way, I will see you often and be with you in these new chapters. Thanks again my friends!
Stay safe, and stay connected
Sam
Devotional Go Tell Of The Feast
It was a trip my dad was not to forget. It was a fishing trip to Canada with my husband, Larry, and some other guys from the church. My dad was the greatest fisherman I ever knew. He fished on the hottest of days, or he would drill a hole in the ice to catch them on the coldest of days. He had so much patience when it came to waiting them out for just a nibble on his line.
One day, he went out with Larry, and he insisted that they go out to the shallows of the giant lake while their fellow fishermen fished deep. As he directed my husband where to set anchor, they looked down to find a huge school of walleye just beneath the boat. As Larry excitedly readied his fishing gear, my dad said the most incredible thing, "Let's go get the others so they can catch some, too." My sweet husband reluctantly did as my dad had suggested. The group caught many fish that day, except for my husband, who caught none, which we laughed about for years!
How many times have I feasted on God's Word, His blessings, and His truth, but didn't go and tell others? I enjoy the warmth of the sanctuary as I listen to the messages from God, the singing of praise, and the wonderful fellowship, but I am fearful to go and tell of God's plan to receive all who ask into His kingdom. In this time of famine of the Word in our world, we have the gospel, the good news of Christ!
Annual General Meeting
Please note there will be a new date for the Annual General Meeting. Please mark in your calendars Sunday March 2nd after the service. While the meeting is pushed to March, I do ask that reports are still sent to me asap. As I am exiting the role of Admin Assistant, I will need to have these reports as soon as possible so I can train Andrea on how to assemble the reports and prepare for the meeting. Thank you for your understanding!

On January 23rd, the Canada Revenue Agency confirmed that it will proceed with administering the 2024 deadline extension for charitable donations. This means that donors will have the option to deduct certain charitable donations made up to February 28, 2025, on their 2024 income tax return.
We can now proceed with our plan to provide GPC congregants with the January and February 2025 giving statements in the first week of March 2025, so they can deduct these donations on their 2024 income tax return.
