Hello Glenbrook,
I hope you have had a great week so far. This week, I will be celebrating the marriage of my little brother Harrison to his (soon to be) wife, Laura. They have been together for nine years, and tomorrow they finally tie the knot! I look forward to standing up and being a part of this incredible day. My parents and grandparents are also over the moon, and look quite snazzy in their wedding outfits. I hope to have some lovely pictures for next week!
This week we are having a very exciting Sunday at Glenbrook. We will hear from special guest speakers John Elliot and Pat Jones from the Canada Foodgrains Bank. Please visit the display for the Good Neighbour Growing Project for further information about this amazing outreach initiative that we are embarking on.
Muffins for Missions
Thank you to everyone who signed up to bring muffins this Sunday! This month, as mentioned above, we have a special guests John Elliot and Pat Jones coming from the Canadian Food Grains Bank to tell us about their work in our community. All proceeds will be going to this organization. Bring an empty stomach and some change!
Thanksgiving Choir
Please note that this weekend will be our final practice before our voices come together in worship on Thanksgiving Sunday! See you after for practice.
The Raw Carrot
Please note that the first round of Raw Carrot soup orders are due on October 27th, and cash payments can be made at pick up time. We have lots of flavours to choose from, so as the weather gets colder, consider getting some homemade soup and supporting a great organization while you're at it!
International Dinner
That's right! Please mark your calendars because the much-missed and very exciting International Dinner is coming back. We are looking to bring our cultures together in one massive potluck on November 16th here at Glenbrook. By next week, we will have a sign up sheet. Please consider bringing your favourite dish from your country, and at the end we will have a lovely cookbook filled with the love and culture of our Glenbrook family.
October Schedule of Volunteers
Please let me know if there are dates which you are unavailable in the fall season and I will gladly switch!
